LEI Motorsports and Rob Jenkins teamed up in the off season of 2005
in a joint effort to produce better finishes. This partnership has
increasingly improved overall performance over the last two seasons
as they have consistently proven to be contenders for the front of
the field. The 2007 season resulted in 10 top tens, 2 top fives and
1 win which was the first win for LEI Motorsports, thus a huge
improvement over the 2005 and 2006 seasons. The team also battled
for fourth place in the final points standings in 2007. Moving
forward into 2008, the team hopes to yet improve these numbers once
again and be in the hunt for the 2008 championship. "We know Rob has
what it takes to win races," said team owner Bill Linyear. "We just
need to make sure we give him good cars and not beat ourselves with
silly mistakes." |
LEI Motorsports approaches
the season with a new attitudes and wholesale changes over last years
program. The fact that LEI is only fielding one car this season should
allow the team to perform better with efforts directed to one program. There is no question that
Rob Jenkins brings a high level of confidence and skill to this organization, as
well as confidence in the organization. The goals are obvious, and the
message is clear. With all facts considered, LEI Motorsports and the #89
of Rob Jenkins just may be the ones to watch this year.
