6th place finish in first feature                                                                                 4/17/2008 LEI Motorsports.com  LEI/ Jenkins salvaged a great finish in a race that got off to a bad start. Early on, the team lost a rear gear in the 1st practice. Missing the second practice, the team replaced the gear with a spare and just made it to the tech building for pre-race inspection before qualifying. Jenkins qualifies the Mozely Rose Chevy in the 8th starting position with a time of 15:17. Just before the start of the race, a surprise inspection brings all of the cars to the tech building.  The officials found that the 89 car was too low and would have to adjust and start at the rear of the field in the 19th position. Later the team found a bad shock on the left front which may have been causing the issue. Nonetheless, still starting 19th with lots of work to do. Jenkins keeps it clean for most of the race making several passes and taking advantage of some valuable attrition. Before it s all over with, Jenkins made it back to the 6th position where he would finish the first feature. Chris Dodson, Brandon Hendrick [55], Shayne Lockhart [11], Greg Fernandez [02], Doug Godsey and Rob Jenkins [89]round out the six.
